Maya Metro Hospital says taxes paid despite inclusion in arrears list

Dhangadhi: Maya Metro Hospital has stated that it has already paid the taxes due to the Internal Revenue Office.

The hospital’s name appeared at the top of a list of 53 firms with unpaid taxes published in the Gorkhapatra on Tuesday.

However, the hospital has said that it was included in the public list as a tax defaulter despite having cleared its dues.

The Internal Revenue Office has also confirmed that the hospital had submitted a letter in Chaitra detailing its tax payments.

According to the office, reconciliation of the hospital’s tax details with its financial transactions has not been completed due to a lack of updated transaction records. As a result, there is difficulty in determining the exact status of income tax arrears.

The office stated that it will only be clear whether any tax remains due after the hospital updates the necessary details.
