Extreme heat forces week-long closure of schools in two Kanchanpur municipalities

Dhangadhi: Community and private schools in Krishnapur Municipality and Bhimdatta Municipality of Kanchanpur will remain closed for a week due to extreme heat. The decision has been taken by both municipalities considering the health condition of students.

In notices issued on Sunday, both Bhimdatta and Krishnapur municipalities announced that all schools under their jurisdiction will observe local holidays until Jestha 13 due to the ongoing heatwave.

Additionally, public holidays will be observed on Jestha 14 for Bakr Eid and on Jestha 15 for Republic Day. As Jestha 16 and 17 fall on Saturday and Sunday, schools will remain closed consecutively, resulting in a week-long تعطیل.

Krishnapur Municipality Information Officer Prem Bogati stated that three days of local holidays have been granted, which will be adjusted from the summer vacation period.
