Indian national arrested in Dhangadhi with smuggled diesel worth Rs 258,800
Dhangadhi: Police have arrested a smuggler in Kailali.
An Indian citizen was apprehended from Khedaghat, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-19, along with diesel brought from India by evading customs.
The arrested individual has been identified as 35-year-old Umesh Gupta of Suda, India. A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, took him into custody on Thursday evening along with diesel worth approximately Rs 258,800 and a motorcycle. Police stated that further investigation has been initiated into the case with the seized items.
In a separate operation, a police patrol team from the District Police Office, Kailali, along with its subordinate offices, recovered a consignment of smuggled goods worth an estimated Rs 210,100. The items, which included bidis, tobacco, plastic film, boiler chicken, and motorcycle spare part-1, were found abandoned near National Trading in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-3 on Thursday.
