Lawmakers call for timely supply of Agricultural inputs ahead of paddy season
Kathmandu: With the onset of the monsoon and the approaching paddy planting season, lawmakers have demanded the timely management of fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural tools.
Speaking during the zero hour of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Achyutham Lamichhane urged the government to address farmers’ problems by ensuring the availability of essential agricultural inputs. Lawmaker Anushka Shrestha called for solutions to issues seen in the Nepal Tourism Board.
Lawmaker Apsana Banu highlighted the difficulties faced in repatriating the bodies of individuals who lose their lives while working abroad and called for greater attention to the welfare of migrant workers. Lawmaker Abhishek Pratap Sah demanded an impartial investigation into the assets of former Home Minister Sudan Gurung. Lawmaker Amrita BK suggested that the government should take decisions without conflicting with the court.
MP Ambikadevi Sangraula stressed the need to utilize domestic energy instead of importing fuel worth billions of rupees. MP Arjun Kumar Karki called for the completion of the Kimathanka checkpoint, noting that only the track has been opened. MP Arjun Narsingh KC demanded that the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission be made public. MP Ashok Kumar Chaudhary urged that school management committees at the local level should not be formed based on political divisions. MP Aakriti Awasthi called for making the digital banking system more reliable and user-friendly.
MP Aryan Rai demanded an investigation into the discrepancy between government provisions of free tickets and visas for foreign employment and the reality of workers paying large sums to go abroad. MP Asha Jha described Morang as a remote area and emphasized resolving electricity and communication tower issues in Sector No. 5.
MP Ashish Gajurel called for making public transport comfortable and reliable, expressing concern over overcrowding. He also raised the issue of a damaged X-ray machine at Sindhuli District Hospital, which has caused difficulties for patients, and demanded immediate arrangements.
MP Ashika Tamang drew attention to ongoing problems on highways in Dhading and called for solutions. She also stressed the need for sufficient charging stations for electric vehicles, noting that vehicles are often stranded due to lack of charge.
MP Indira Rana Magar raised concerns over 11 bighas of land in the Arjundhara area of Jhapa and demanded a solution. MP Yashoda Kumari Baral called for the immediate repatriation of Nepalis facing problems while working abroad.
MP Ankita Thakur proposed developing the Chinnamasta Bhagwati Temple to boost tourism and also urged attention to the development of Rajbiraj city. MP Kabindra Burlakoti highlighted frequent power outages in several municipalities of Gorkha even during normal winds and demanded replacement of poles and wires.
MP Kali Bahadur Sahakari criticized the government for not listening to the opposition and acting unilaterally, leading to various problems. MP Kusum Maharjan called for action against those involved in tax misuse, noting an increase in tax revenue. MP Kripa Maharjan demanded a policy to prevent the sale and distribution of imported goods in heritage areas of the Kathmandu Valley.
MP Kriparam Rana called for action against those responsible for a murder case. MP KP Khanal urged the completion of the long-stalled Seti Highway in Sudurpaschim Province.
MP Krishnahari Budhathoki demanded solutions to issues such as telecommunications problems, water shortages, monkey menace, and lack of chemical fertilizers in Ramechhap.
MP Krantishikha Dhital criticized the notion that knowledge is measured solely by physical presence at Tribhuvan University and emphasized that quality education should be prioritized.
