Five arrested with illegal drugs in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: Five individuals have been arrested in possession of illegal drugs in Kanchanpur.

Police arrested 27-year-old Keshab Bohara of Samadaiji, Bedkot Municipality-3, from near the stairs behind his house on Thursday afternoon. Acting on information about drug trafficking, a joint team from the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office, Mahendranagar, carried out the arrest.

Similarly, 47-year-old Karan Okheda, a resident of Singhpal, Beldandi Rural Municipality-2, was arrested with 6 grams and 500 milligrams of brown heroin from Sadakghat, Belauri Municipality-10, on Thursday evening.

In another incident, a joint police team from the Area Police Office, Beldandi, and Police Post, Bhuda, Kanchanpur, arrested four individuals, including an auto driver, on Thursday evening. The team apprehended a suspected smuggler who was entering Nepal from India. All four individuals traveling in a diesel auto with registration number 01-001 H 8443 were arrested along with the contraband substance and the vehicle.
