NEPSE index falls for third consecutive day
Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined for the third consecutive trading day.
Today, the NEPSE index fell by 5.73 points and closed at 2,738.72. A total of 19.77 million shares of 346 companies were bought and sold 80,427 times, resulting in a total transaction worth Rs 4.91 billion.
In today’s trading, the banking group rose by 0.02 percent and the production and processing group increased by 0.84 percent, while all other sub-indices recorded declines.
Among the declining groups, development banks fell by 0.48 percent, finance by 0.20 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.04 percent, hydropower by 0.40 percent, and investment by 0.42 percent. Similarly, life insurance declined by 0.26 percent, microfinance by 0.34 percent, mutual funds by 0.52 percent, non-life insurance by 0.02 percent, trade by 0.63 percent, and other groups by 0.97 percent.
