Specialist ward health clinic benefits over 27,000 patients in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: A total of 27,839 patients have received health services through the Specialist Ward Health Clinic program launched by the Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City.

During the current fiscal year 2082/83, from Shrawan to mid-Chait, 27,839 patients directly benefited from the program. The initiative, aimed at poor and disadvantaged citizens in rural areas, provided free specialist services to 20,875 women and 6,964 men during this period, according to Krishna Bohara, a source associated with the program.

He stated that one general physician, one gynecologist and obstetrician, and ophthalmologists—working in collaboration with Geta Eye Hospital and Dhangadhi Netralaya—have been providing free services under the program. During the period, 16,900 people received services from general physicians, 3,715 women from gynecologists and obstetricians, and 7,224 individuals received eye care services.

According to the data, 18,016 people availed laboratory services, 3,087 underwent ECG services, 3,498 pregnant women received care, and 1,306 people accessed ultrasound services at the clinic. Similarly, 6,462 individuals above the age of 70 have benefited from the program.

He added that the program, which began in Shrawan 2079 BS, is conducted in all 19 wards every month. According to the Sub-metropolitan City, a total of 44,451 people, including 33,141 women and 11,310 men, benefited from the program in the fiscal year 2081/82.
