Home minister Gurung clarifies details of asset disclosure

Kathmandu: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has clarified that he has clearly mentioned the issue of shares worth Rs 2.5 million in his asset details.

Clarifying the criticism made in various media outlets about his asset details, Minister Gurung said that the details related to that can be viewed on the website of the Council of Ministers.

Minister Gurung's secretariat has clarified on the matter, saying, "Not all shares are of the same nature, it is clear in the asset details that shares traded in the stock market are worth more than Rs 20 million."

Similarly, Minister Gurung's secretariat has clarified that investments in Star Micro Insurance and Liberty Micro are also included in this group. Similarly, he disagreed with those who made negative comments outside that shares were bought before becoming a minister and said that investing in shares is not a crime. He also said that the transaction was done through banking channels and all the accounts of the money that went through the bank are clear.
