Prime minister Balendra Shah to meet vice-chancellors to address higher education challenges

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balendra Shah is holding discussions with vice-chancellors of universities and institutes today. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 12:00 pm at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, vice-chancellors from 11 universities and seven institutes, where the Prime Minister serves as Chancellor, have been invited. The discussion will focus on contemporary issues facing universities and institutes, along with possible solutions. Matters that can be resolved immediately are also expected to be addressed.

The meeting will include vice-chancellors from Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University. Representatives from Purbanchal University, Pokhara University, and Lumbini Buddhist University will also participate.

Similarly, vice-chancellors from Nepal Sanskrit University, Sudurpaschimanchal University, and Madhyapaschimanchal University are expected to attend.

The Secretariat further stated that discussions will also be held with vice-chancellors of Agriculture and Forestry University, Rajarshi Janak University, and Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences.

In addition, vice-chancellors from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, National Academy of Medical Sciences, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, and BP Koirala Academy of Health Sciences will be present.

Prime Minister Shah is also set to hold discussions with vice-chancellors from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, and Rapti Academy of Health Sciences.
