Doti’s Khadka files nomination for Chair of Public Accounts Committee

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress MP Bharat Bahadur Khadka, elected from Doti in the Far West, has filed his candidacy for the post of Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives. Earlier, the Congress parliamentary party had decided to propose him for the post.

He formally filed his nomination today in accordance with the same decision. There is a schedule for filing nominations in the parliamentary committees under the House of Representatives today.

Meanwhile, the National Independent Party (NISP), which has a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives, has decided to give the post of Chairman of the Accounts Committee to the main opposition party and to nominate its MPs as the chairmen of other committees.

The opposition parties have also agreed to support Congress candidate Khadka for the post of Chairman of the Accounts Committee.
