Far west provincial assembly moves to amend key acts on local services, Dalits and public health

Dhangadhi: The Far West Provincial Assembly meeting has initiated the process to amend the Local Services, Dalits and Public Health-related laws.

During the meeting, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Shivraj Bhatta presented a bill to amend the Far West Provincial Public Health Service Act 2076 BS. He also tabled a bill to amend the Dalit Empowerment Act 2078 BS. Both bills have been forwarded to the Social Development Committee for clause-wise discussion.

It has been stated that the proposed amendments will be thoroughly discussed within the committee. Likewise, the report of the first amendment bill 2082 BS related to the formation and operation of the Far West Provincial Local Services has also been presented in the Provincial Assembly.

Chairman of the Budget and Provincial Affairs Committee Diwan Singh Bista presented the report after clause-wise deliberations in the committee. According to Provincial Assembly Information Officer Yubaraj Jaishi, the bill will be endorsed after further discussion in the Assembly.

Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari announced that the next meeting of the Provincial Assembly will be held on Chaitra 10.
