Tikapur municipality calls for household waste segregation

Kailali: Tikapur Municipality in Kailali has urged residents to classify waste generated from their homes.

The municipality stated that segregating waste at the household level will make waste management more effective. To support this, public awareness programs have been conducted in toles, settlements, and market areas.

“When all types of waste are mixed in one place, it not only creates challenges in management but also poses safety risks for sanitation workers,” said Lok Bahadur Budha, head of the municipality’s sanitation department. “To address this, awareness programs have been carried out in communities to educate citizens on proper waste classification.”

Sunita BK of Vijayanagar, Tikapur-2, shared that waste segregation will be practiced at home in the coming days. Similarly, Aarti Thapa suggested that the municipality should arrange waste collection at different designated locations.
