Nepal U-19 table tennis team receives grand send-off from Dhangadhi ahead of 'South Asia Youth Championship 2026'

Dhangadhi: Nepal’s U-19 table tennis team was given a grand farewell in Dhangadhi before departing for India to participate in the South Asia Youth Championship 2026.

The team was formally sent off on Saturday through a ceremonial program, with well-wishes for a successful journey to the competition organized under the International Table Tennis Federation and the Asian Table Tennis Union.

Upon visiting Dhangadhi, the Nepali team praised the city’s sports infrastructure, training environment, and the proactive role of local authorities in promoting sports development. The players noted that Dhangadhi’s prioritization of sports has provided them with additional motivation.

Addressing the event, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Gopal Hamal described the athletes participating in international competitions as a pride of the nation and wished them success in representing the country with outstanding performances.

Participation in the championship is expected to provide Nepali youth athletes with valuable international experience, enhance their skills, and boost their confidence for future competitions.
