Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) President Ravi Lamichhane has vowed to end the politics of revenge and commit to governing without arrogance. Speaking at the first meeting of the House of Representatives, he emphasized just and fair conduct toward the opposition.

Lamichhane stated that discrimination based on faith, as seen in the past, will no longer occur and that parliamentary practice will be conducted with dignity. “Now, the microphone will not be cut to suppress anyone's voice, nor will revenge be taken in committees based on the strength of numbers, but the pace of good governance will not be stopped,” he said.

He added that the tendency to blame foreign manipulation after losing power will also end. Lamichhane urged individuals appointed through political recommendations to voluntarily resign and follow the law.

Highlighting the RSWP’s new approach, he said the party has entered a phase of presenting solutions rather than only raising questions. “We are not only asked questions, but also given answers. We are not only given problems, but also given solutions,” he emphasized.

He also called on opposition parties to actively monitor the government and point out any shortcomings. “If we have strayed from the path, please correct us; if we have strayed from the people, please remind us of the voice of the people,” he said.

Lamichhane reiterated his commitment to accountable, ego-free governance, noting that in a democracy, the ruling party and the opposition are not just competitors but also complementary forces.
