392 New industries registered in Kailali in eight months

Dhangadhi: A total of 392 new industries have been registered at the Cottage and Small Industries Office Kailali during the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, from Shrawan to Falgun.

According to Information Officer Sharmila Basnet, the highest number—172—are service-oriented industries. In addition, 132 agricultural and 88 manufacturing industries were registered during the same period. She also noted that 170 industries have been closed during this timeframe.

Basnet stated that a total of 16,145 cottage and small industries have been registered in the district so far.

During the same period, 445 commercial firms were registered under local trade. The office also collected Rs 18.874 million in revenue over the eight months, compared to Rs 16.397 million collected in the previous fiscal year 2081/82.
