Dhangadhi: Nepali Congress Kailali has stated that serious attention has been drawn to allegations of financial transactions during the House of Representatives member elections.

In a statement issued on Monday, District Working Committee President Narayan Dutta Bhatta said concerns have arisen over claims that party leaders and cadres were involved in financial dealings with a Nepal Communist Party (NCP) candidate in Kailali Constituency No. 5.

He said the party had instructed its candidates prior to the elections to secure victories and increase proportional votes. Following the announcement of results, all five candidates in the district were directed to submit reports outlining reasons for defeat, experiences, suggestions, and future strategies.

Bhatta also noted that Naranarayan Shah (Manu), the candidate from Constituency No. 5, alleged that 57 Congress leaders and cadres had changed their votes through financial transactions. He urged Manu to clarify the matter and take responsibility.

Manu, who also serves as the party’s provincial general secretary, claimed he had received a list of 57 Congress members who allegedly accepted money from Ale. According to Shah, many of those named hold various positions within the party.

Meanwhile, Ale has rejected the claim, stating that Manu made false allegations about submitting such a list. He has challenged the party to make the list public if it indeed exists.
