Hemant Dhami’s six-wicket haul powers Sudurpaschim to winning start in PM Cup

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Province registered a winning start in the Prime Minister's Cup (PM Cup) cricket tournament, defeating Karnali Province by four wickets at the Narayani Stadium in Birgunj.

Chasing a target of 120 runs, Sudurpaschim reached the total in 29.2 overs, losing six wickets. Kiran Thagunna led the scoring with 26 runs, while Khadak Bohara contributed 23. Milan Bohara remained unbeaten on 18, and Sher Malla added an unbeaten 10 runs.

For Karnali, Anuj Chanara and Diwan Pun claimed two wickets each, while Prakash Jaisi and Dipendra Rawat picked up one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Karnali, after losing the toss and batting first, were bowled out for 119 runs in 32 overs. Bipin Rawal scored 33 runs, while Sunil Dhamala added 28.

Hemant Dhami delivered an outstanding bowling performance for Sudurpaschim, taking six wickets for 16 runs in seven overs. He was supported by Sher Malla, Narayan Joshi, Ashok Dhami, and Milan Bohara, who took one wicket each.
