Upgradation of Sahajpur–Gharkheda–Nigali road begins in Kailali
Godavari (Kailali): The upgradation of the Sahajpur–Gharkheda–Nigali road in Chure Rural Municipality of Kailali has commenced. The Infrastructure Development Office Kailali stated that work has begun on upgrading the 14.835-kilometer road connecting the Dhangadhi–Dipayal fast track via Gharkheda–Nigali, linking Sahajpur in Chure Rural Municipality-3 to Ward No. 1, the center of the rural municipality.
Office Engineer Suryaksh Joshi said the project is being implemented under the Provincial and Local Road Improvement Program with financial support from the World Bank. A contract agreement worth Rs. 363 million 99 thousand has been signed, and construction work has started.
According to Joshi, the contract agreement was signed on Baisakh 15 with Dhukechu ANK Joshi JV, a Mahendranagar-based construction company, with a deadline to complete the project by Jestha 3, 2084.
As per the agreement, 6 kilometers of the road from Sahajpur to Gharkheda, the center of the rural municipality, will be blacktopped. The remaining 8.835 kilometers from Gharkheda to Nigali will also be blacktopped, the Infrastructure Development Office Kailali said.
