37 Road accidents in Kanchanpur during Falgun claim three lives, police report shows

Kanchanpur: The District Police Office, Kanchanpur, has released its progress report for the month of Falgun in the fiscal year 2082/083, highlighting notable activities in human security, traffic management, and search and rescue operations.

According to the report, out of 34 cases of missing women, children, and senior citizens registered during the month, 27 individuals have been located. Among them, 16 were women, of whom 12 have been found. Similarly, 5 out of 8 missing boys and 7 out of 10 missing girls have been traced, police said.

During the same period, a total of 37 road accidents occurred in the district, involving 50 vehicles. The incidents resulted in three fatalities and 60 injuries. Police reported that 21 of the injured were rescued by their teams.

In terms of traffic enforcement, police took 572 actions against violations of traffic rules, collecting a total revenue of Rs 40,130.

An analysis of the causes of the accidents indicates that driver negligence was the leading factor, responsible for 17 incidents. Additionally, three accidents were attributed to vehicle conditions, two to passengers, three to road conditions, five to weather, and seven to animals.

The District Police Office has stated its commitment to strengthening awareness, monitoring, and enforcement measures to reduce the number of road accidents.
