Two killed in jeep–motorcycle collision on east-west highway in Kanchanpur

Mahendranagar: Two people were killed in a collision between a jeep and a motorcycle on the Mahendranagar–Daiji section of the East-West Highway on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the accident occurred when a Bolero jeep (Se 1 Ja 1405) heading towards Attariya from Mahendranagar collided with a motorcycle (Ma 2 Pa 3506) coming from the opposite direction.

Police Inspector Birendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that the two people riding the motorcycle, who were seriously injured in the accident, died. “Detailed information about the incident is yet to come,” said Police Inspector Thapa. “Although the motorcycle driver and the rider died, their identities have not yet been revealed.”

Police have stated that the jeep driver has been taken into custody.
