Peaceful voting underway across Sudurpaschim province

Dhangadhi: Voting has been continuing peacefully in Sudurpaschim Province since 7 am.

Voters have been reaching polling stations in all 16 constituencies of the province since morning to exercise their franchise. According to Premraj Bhatta, Chief of the Provincial Election Office, the voting process began an hour earlier in 2,199 polling stations across 1,176 polling centers in the province. There are a total of 1.716 million voters in the province.

Security arrangements have been tightened throughout the province to ensure a fair and fear-free election. Based on security sensitivity, 481 polling stations and 985 polling stations have been placed on the ‘highly sensitive’ list, while 395 polling stations have been categorized as ‘sensitive’.

A large number of security personnel, including the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police, have been mobilized in highly sensitive and sensitive areas. The administration stated that security agencies have been placed on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents.

Voting will continue until 5 pm today. Separate lines have been arranged at polling stations to facilitate easier voting for senior citizens, people with disabilities, the sick, and pregnant women.
