CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokharel emphasizes importance of upcoming elections for constitutional process

Kathmandu: CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokharel has highlighted that the upcoming elections are crucial to restoring the constitutional process, which he said has been operating outside its proper framework.

Speaking at a program held on Friday in Kathmandu constituency number 5, Pokharel stressed the need to bring the country’s democratic and constitutional processes back on track. He described the elections as an opportunity to achieve meaningful outcomes and urged citizens to participate actively to support the campaign for national transformation.

Pokharel also emphasized that nothing is greater than the nation and called on patriots to unite against activities that go against the country’s interests. He expressed confidence that in the current elections—viewed as a referendum between nation-building and nation-damaging forces—the public would support the side committed to building the nation.

At the same program, Komal Paudel, who had filed her candidacy in Kathmandu-5 under the Mobile election symbol, announced the suspension of her candidacy and declared her support for Pokharel.
