Four sisters launch ‘Himalaya Bakery-Cafe’ in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: Four sisters have jointly opened Himalaya Bakery-Cafe in Dhangadhi. Laxmi Bista Bhandari, Asha Bista, Upashana Bista, and Asmita Bista, who are permanent residents of Baitadi, operate the cafe near the Children’s Temple at LN Chowk in Dhangadhi.

Laxmi Bista stated that the business was founded with the vision that women should not be confined to household chores but should become self-reliant by engaging in entrepreneurship.

Asha Bista, a barista managing the coffee shop, said she plans to combine her skills with income generation by offering customers organic-flavored bakery products, cakes, coffee, and other snacks. “The aim is to bring the cake and bakery skills learned in Kathmandu to Dhangadhi and also inspire local women,” she added. Asha is also pursuing her studies.

Madhu Pradhan, a cake and bakery entrepreneur and trainer, inaugurated the cafe on Thursday and highlighted that it is a matter of pride to see women advancing in business.
