Akkal Bahadur Pal clinches title at ‘Durgalaxmi Daudhincha’ marathon in Attariya
Attariya: Akkal Bahadur Pal secured first place in the ‘Durgalaxmi Daudhincha’ marathon competition organized in Attariya, Kailali. The event was held on Thursday by the Durgalaxmi Alumni Forum formed at Durgalaxmi Model Secondary School.
The 8.5-kilometer race began in front of the school premises and concluded at the Godavari Bridge. Pal completed the designated distance in 29 minutes and 45 seconds to claim the title.
Sunil Sunar finished the race in 33 minutes, securing second position, while Pradeep Khatri completed it in 37 minutes to finish third. Along with the title, Pal received a cash prize of Rs 25,555. Sunar was awarded Rs 15,555 for second place, and Khatri received Rs 5,555 for third place.
Srijana Pandey was recognized as the best female participant. She ran alongside the male runners and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,555. Competition coordinator Prem Bhatta stated that she was the first woman to reach the finish line among 14 female participants.
Organized on the occasion of Democracy Day, the marathon was held under the slogan “Run for Health, Meet for Friendship.” Coordinator Bhatta said the event aimed to strengthen ties among the school’s alumni and has contributed to uniting alumni at both national and international levels.
