CPN (UML) candidate Vachan Bahadur Singh unveils election commitment for Kanchanpur-2

Belauri: CPN (UML) candidate from Kanchanpur Constituency No. 2, Vachan Bahadur Singh, has released his election commitment letter ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

In his commitment, Singh pledged to enhance the quality and systematic functioning of schools in Bedkot, Shuklaphanta, and Krishnapur municipalities by providing grants for their development as model schools. He also committed to blacktopping more than a dozen roads within the constituency.

Singh emphasized the implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and the promotion of good governance by amending policies that hinder effective oversight. The letter outlines plans to establish a digital complaint management system in public offices and ensure direct communication with the public every three months and with voters every six months after being elected.

On education, Singh committed to introducing digital classrooms and technology-based quality education in all schools across the three municipalities. He pledged to guarantee service facilities and professional security for school employees, child development workers, relief and grant teachers, and internally appointed teachers, aligning with integrated local, provincial, and federal policies. Measures will also be taken to address existing challenges in the education sector and manage teacher positions to make community school education fully free.

In healthcare, Singh pledged to develop municipal hospitals into modern facilities, provide effective treatment for sickle cell and chronic diseases prevalent in the Tharu community, ensure at least one specialist doctor and essential health workers in urban health centers, and provide free medicines. He also committed to completing ongoing drinking water and sanitation projects in each ward.

Singh’s plans include improving agriculture and animal husbandry, establishing one humidity center in each municipality, promoting agro-based industries, and installing mesh wire in settlements near forests to mitigate human-wildlife conflict.

Regarding infrastructure, Singh committed to constructing a four-lane road from Daiji Chowk to Chhelabazar, blacktopping the road connecting Parashuram Dham via Suda, Putali Bazaar, Chunepani, and Bank-Nayal, completing city ring roads under construction, and constructing concrete bridges on the Chaudhar River in Bedkot-3, Bagunkhola in Bedkot-4, and the river connecting Padhaniyaghat and Attariya in Krishnapur-7.

Singh also expressed his commitment to building a multi-purpose stadium, launching campaigns against drug abuse, promoting youth employment through innovation and entrepreneurship, and addressing social issues such as superstition, harmful customs, and discrimination.

He further pledged to compensate the victims of the former Shuklaphanta reserve, providing 10 kathas of land or six million rupees per family, formalize land ownership certificates for freed Kamaiyas, and facilitate loans using these certificates as collateral.

Other candidates in Kanchanpur-2 include Narayan Prakash Saud of the Nepali Congress, Tirtharaj Chataut of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Madhav Prasad Pant of the Nepal Communist Party, Ram Bahadur Karki of the Rastriya Janamorcha, and Sitaram Rana of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party.
