Baitadi candidate Parmananda Bhatta publicizes election commitment
Baitadi: Parmananda Bhatta, Nepali Communist Party candidate for the House of Representatives from Baitadi, has made his election commitment public to seek voter support.
Bhatta, who previously founded CPN-UML Baitadi and served as president of the District Development Committee, is now representing the unified Nepali Communist Party in the elections.
In his four-page commitment letter, Bhatta outlined key plans to promote well-equipped hospitals, quality education, blacktop roads, agricultural homestays, employment opportunities, herbal industries, religious tourism, entrepreneurship, and wildlife management across six major areas of the district.
Announcing his commitment at a press conference held at the district headquarters in Gothalapani on Monday, Bhatta emphasized fair resource distribution, employment through entrepreneurship, quality education to curb migration, and the construction of well-equipped hospitals in six locations within the district.
He detailed plans to blacktop key roads, including Bipyaktal-Dhungadh, Dudilakhan-Ganjari-Thalakanda, and Shribhavar-Bachpani-Shiwaling in the Chwangad area, projects initiated during his previous tenure. Additional road projects include connecting Khochalek-Rim in Dogadakedar, Dehimandaun-Giregada and Dehimandaun-Salena linking the district headquarters to Talloswarad, and the Satbanjh-Shribhavar road connecting Baitadi, Darchula, and Bajhang with the Mahakali Corridor.
Highlighting his experience in religious tourism, Bhatta noted that Indian tourists have begun visiting the Patalbhumeshwor area following development guided by a master plan. If elected, he pledged to establish industries based on herbs and forest products in the Gwallek and Sigas protected areas.
Addressing agricultural challenges, he promised to diversify cultivation in areas affected by monkeys, prioritizing crops such as timur, turmeric, ginger, and sour fruits. He also committed to initiatives for preventing landslides and soil erosion in high-risk areas such as Dhik, Salena, and Gokuleshwor.
On healthcare, Bhatta proposed expanding services with skilled manpower and increasing capacity at the District Hospital Baitadi to 50 beds. To tackle youth unemployment, he pledged to advance phosphorite, iron, and limestone mining and exploration projects in the district.
Furthermore, he announced plans to convert the government-owned Satbanjh Dry Fruit Development Center into an agricultural homestay to attract agricultural tourism.
The candidate’s public declaration aims to provide a comprehensive development roadmap for the district, from infrastructure and health to tourism and employment.
