Naradamuni Rana appointed UML election commander in Kailali-5
Dhangadhi: The CPN-UML has appointed former Politburo member and Kailali in-charge Naradamuni Rana as the election commander for Kailali-5. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Regional Coordination Committee of Constituency No. 5 on Friday, which also formed a 1,001-member main mobilization committee under Rana’s leadership for election preparations.
Sudurpaschim Province Secretary Ran Bahadur Chand has been named deputy coordinator of the committee. Additionally, a 25-member secretariat for the main election mobilization committee has been established under Rana’s coordination, with leaders from various levels representing Kailali-5 included as members.
For the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21, the UML has nominated District Chairman Yagyaraj Dhungana as its candidate in Kailali-5. Rana, who has been appointed as Dhungana’s election commander, previously defeated Congress leader Arju Rana in Kailali-5 in 2074 BS and was defeated by Congress’ Dilliraj Pant in 2079 BS.
Rana had also aspired to contest from Kailali-5 this year, but after the party awarded the ticket to District President Dhungana, he accepted the role of election commander and is actively working to secure a victory for the UML candidate.
