Driver killed, three injured in Baitadi tractor accident; identities confirmed

Baitadi: One person has died and three others have been injured in a tractor accident in Baitadi. The accident occurred this morning at Anarkoli, Patan Municipality–8, along the Dasharathchand Highway, when a tractor (registration number M 1 TA 1013) traveling from Dhangadhi to Darchula met with an accident.

The driver of the tractor, 21-year-old Karan Budhamagar of Gulfai, Mahakali Municipality–5, died on the spot, according to Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi.

Three other individuals traveling on the tractor were injured in the incident. The injured have been identified as 40-year-old Suraj Ghartigar of Tikapur Municipality–7 in Kailali, his 18-year-old son Siddhartha Ghartigar, and Amit BK of Tikapur–6. All three injured are currently undergoing treatment at Dadeldhura Hospital.

Police said that the accident is suspected to have occurred after the tractor lost control and plunged approximately 50 meters off the road. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
