Himali rural municipality seeks clarification from three employees over election campaigning
Bajura: Himali Rural Municipality in Bajura has sought clarification from three employees on charges of violating the election code of conduct and engaging in election campaigning.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Kul Bahadur Thapa, clarifications have been sought from rural municipality employees Janak Malla, Health Unit Chief Deepak Bhandari, and Engineer Raj Malla.
As per the decision of the Election Commission, the employees were found to be involved in activities contrary to the election code of conduct through social media, at a time when the code of conduct has been in effect since midnight of Magh 5, 2082 BS.
The rural municipality has instructed the concerned employees to appear before the rural municipality office within two days and submit their explanations. It has also warned that failure to submit an explanation within the stipulated time will result in necessary action in accordance with prevailing laws related to violations of the election code of conduct and civil service regulations.
Chief Administrative Officer Thapa stated that the local level is committed to ensuring full compliance with the election code of conduct and noted that this is the first time in Bajura that clarification has been sought from employees for actions contrary to the code of conduct.
