Annual Jat fair scheduled at Gwasi Samaiji Temple in Kanchanpur on magh 11

Dhangadhi: The annual Jat fair will be held this year as well at the Gwasi Samaiji Temple in Malubela, Krishnapur Municipality–4 of Kanchanpur district. Observed every year on the seventh day of Magh Shukla, the fair is scheduled to take place on Magh 11 this year.

According to local resident Jeevan Raj Bhatta, a preliminary fair will be organized on Magh 9 at Baddi Macheli (Kumijhal) in Godavari Municipality–12, which is considered the main shrine of Gwasi Samaiji. This will be followed by the traditional Ratedi ritual on the night of Magh 10, while the main Jat fair will be held at the Gwasi Samaiji Temple in Malubela on Magh 11.

Devotees and visitors from Kanchanpur and Kailali districts, as well as from Doti and Dadeldhura, participate in the fair organized at the temple. It is widely believed that worship at the temple fulfills devotees’ wishes.

The Gwasi Samaiji Temple is located about seven kilometers north of Gulariya Bazaar in Krishnapur Municipality. Meanwhile, it has been stated that Shiva Mahapuran and Maharudra Virat Mahayagya will be organized from Chaitra 6 to 16 for the development of the temple.
