Gorakh Bahadur Bista arrives in Kailali-4 after filing candidacy
Attariya: Nepali Congress candidate for Kailali constituency number 4, Gorakh Bahadur Bista (Ananda), has entered his constituency following the registration of his candidacy. Bista, who filed his nomination through Waresana on Tuesday, arrived in Dhangadhi by air from Kathmandu on Wednesday.
He was welcomed at Dhangadhi Airport by Nepali Congress leaders, cadres and supporters. Congress regional president Basant Rokaya, Godavari Municipality Mayor Birendra Bhatta and others were present at the airport to receive him.
Briefly speaking to media persons at the airport, Bista said he has entered the election with a sacred spirit aimed at the overall development of Kailali constituency number 4. Stating that he has been associated with the Nepali Congress for the past 36 years, he said he filed his candidacy with the intention of serving his homeland. “I have come to serve the people of Kailali constituency number 4 with a sacred spirit. I have nothing to hide; I am an open book,” he said.
Bista committed to applying the experience he has gained at both national and international levels for the development of the region. He also stated that he would move forward by incorporating the spirit of the ‘Gen-Z’ movement seen in the country. Saying that the internal disputes within the party have been resolved, he claimed that there is currently no rift of any kind.
He clarified that the election is not a personal contest but a competition between political parties. He informed that he had contacted his rival Lekhraj Bhatta and urged him to compete in a fair manner, pledging to avoid abusive language and negative politics.
After arriving at the airport, Bista proceeded to the constituency in a rally and first visited the Godavari pilgrimage site. As part of the ongoing Barha Rashi Kumbh Mela in Godavari, he offered prayers at the Kumbh Batika and Shivalaya and sought blessings from the temple’s Mahant, Tulchhi Giri.
