32 Sal trees felled at Bhageshwor basic school in Godavari-1

Dhangadhi: A total of 32 sal trees have been cut down in Chaitanyapur, Ward No. 1 of Godavari Municipality in Kailali district. The trees were felled within the premises of Bhageshwor Basic School.

According to the Sub-Division Forest Office, Attariya, the trees were removed after it was determined that they posed a potential risk to the school. Forest Officer Krishna Bohara told Dinesh Khabar that the trees were cut down with official permission, taking the risk factor into consideration.

However, local residents have expressed suspicion that the trees were cut without proper authorization. Responding to the concerns, the Forest Office maintained that the trees were measured and assessed, and only those identified as hazardous were permitted to be cut in accordance with existing laws.
