Nepali peacekeepers rotate in central African republic mission
Kathmandu: A team of peacekeepers from the Gorakhnath Battalion has departed for the mission area to replace the third battalion of the Yudhbhairav Battalion, currently deployed in the Central African Republic for United Nations peacekeeping operations.
According to the Army Public Relations and Information Directorate, the first team of 175 peacekeepers from the fourth battalion left for the mission on Sunday night. Meanwhile, 225 Nepali peacekeepers who have completed their term in the mission have returned home.
The Nepali Army reported that a total of 1,189 Nepali peacekeepers are currently serving in the United Nations mission.
