Shuklaphanta National Park Earns Rs 227,000 in tourist revenue in a single month

Kanchanpur: Shuklaphanta National Park has collected Rs 227,129 in revenue during Kartik of the current fiscal year. Although safari activities resumed from Asoj, revenue increased notably in Kartik, according to the park’s information officer, Purushottam Wagle. A total of 598 visitors, including 250 women and 348 men, entered the park during the month.

In the last fiscal year 2081/82, the park recorded a total revenue of Rs 1,953,770 from 3,722 tourists. Of these visitors, 1,600 were women and 2,000 were men, including tourists from foreign and SAARC countries. The highest number of visitors was recorded in Baisakh, when 324 women and 476 men visited the park, generating revenue of Rs 300,000 for that month.

The park charges Rs 100 for domestic tourists, Rs 800 for visitors from SAARC countries and Rs 1,500 for foreign tourists. Additional fees apply for the use of vehicles inside the park.

Shuklaphanta National Park, known for its large herds of bison, attracts visitors from various countries. Park Chief Chandra Shekhar Chaudhary said the area is home to one of the world’s largest grasslands, and conserving its biodiversity is a primary goal. He also stated that check posts along tourist routes are equipped to assist visitors if any issues arise.
