19th Sudurpaschim festival kicks off tomorrow in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: The 19th edition of the Sudurpaschim Festival is set to begin tomorrow in Dhangadhi, Kailali. The festival will be held at Pashupati Tole in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-1, according to the organizer, the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal will inaugurate the festival. Organizers have stated that all preparations have been completed. A main organizing committee along with 23 sub-committees has been formed for the event, which will continue until Poush 2.

The festival is being organized with an investment of Rs 30 million and is expected to generate a turnover of around Rs 150 million. A total of 500 stalls will be showcased, featuring agricultural products, herbs, handicrafts, garments, electronics and hotels. Of these, 40 stalls for agriculture and 55 stalls, including 15 for women entrepreneurs, single women and local dishes, will be provided free of charge.

It is estimated that around seven lakh visitors will attend the festival during the festival period. Entry tickets have been fixed at Rs 50 for students and athletes and Rs 100 for the general public, while senior citizens and people with disabilities will be allowed free entry.
