Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Yatayat has launched a new bus service, Rajgaddi Express, with a significant investment aimed at improving passenger transport and tourism in the region.

The service was inaugurated on Friday, and the buses will operate from Dhangadhi Bus Park to Kathmandu. The total investment in Rajgaddi Express exceeds Rs 13 million, with six buses currently in operation. The fare for the Dhangadhi-Kathmandu route has been set at Rs 3,500, and passengers will be provided with food and snacks during the journey, according to Padam Sapkota.

Each bus will have two drivers and comfortable seating arrangements to ensure passenger convenience. Sudurpaschim Yatayat Chairman Padam Bikram Singh stated that the Rajgaddi Express service will also support tourism development in the region.

Kailali Industry and Commerce Association President Pushkar Raj Ojha highlighted Sudurpaschim Yatayat’s contribution to regional development by representing the private sector. He noted that a “Sundar Paschim” poster campaign will be launched on the new buses in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Provincial President of the National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs, Tek Raj Joshi, criticized the government for neglecting local transport investors despite their substantial investments. He added that Dhangadhi Bus Park requires better management, describing the current situation as chaotic.

Dr. Hemraj Pant, former chief of Kailali Multiple Campus, acknowledged Sudurpaschim Yatayat’s contributions beyond transportation, including social development, and expressed confidence that the Rajgaddi Express will provide high-quality service.

Padam Sapkota, president of the Sundar Paschim Transport Entrepreneurs Association, emphasized that the Rajgaddi Express will deliver quality service while urging drivers and operators to maintain passenger-friendly behavior alongside investment in buses.
