Vitamin ‘A’ and deworming campaign reaches nearly 9,000 children in Darchula

Darchula: A total of 8,928 children in Darchula are set to receive Vitamin ‘A’ supplements, while 8,058 children will be given deworming medicine.

According to Birendra Bhatta, Head of the Health Office, Darchula, necessary medicines and health workers have been mobilized to administer Vitamin ‘A’ and deworming tablets over two days on Kartik 20 and 21 as part of the annual national campaign. He stated that the Health Office has identified the target group and supplied the required Vitamin ‘A’ capsules and deworming medicines to all local levels.

Altogether, 9,950 Vitamin ‘A’ capsules and 8,598 deworming tablets have been dispatched to the health branches of all nine local levels in the district. Bhatta informed that 380 female community health volunteers and four health workers have been mobilized to provide Vitamin ‘A’ and deworming medicine to children aged six months to five years and one to five years respectively, as well as to screen for malnutrition.
