Dhangadhi: Padam Bahadur Saud, a student from Dadeldhura currently studying at the Faculty of Law, Kailali Multiple Campus, has been selected as Nepal’s representative in the South Asian Youth Council, which includes member countries Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

According to Council Secretariat Member Faiz Ullah, Saud was chosen from among 1,200 applicants. Ullah stated that Saud was selected for his experience representing Nepal in various international competitions, his strong knowledge of international law, his consistent advocacy for peace, and his active efforts at the international level for climate justice.

The South Asian Youth Council works to promote peace in South Asia, strengthen relations among SAARC countries, ensure adherence to international law, and advance sustainable development initiatives.

As regional geopolitical challenges continue to evolve following the Gen-z Movement, observers have noted that the council’s efforts—and Saud’s role within it—will be crucial in promoting regional stability and ensuring Nepal’s constructive engagement in South Asian diplomacy.
