Body of Kalikot girl who drowned found in Achham after eight days

Achham: The body of a 15-year-old girl who jumped into the Karnali River from Khulalu Bridge in Kalikot has been recovered in Rahaf, Achham.

The deceased has been identified as Sirjana Batala of Malkot, Narharinath Rural Municipality-7, Kalikot. Her body was found on the banks of the Karnali River eight days after the incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, Chief of Achham Police, stated that the body was discovered on Tuesday evening at Budhabaluwa, near Tallo Dungeshwor in Rahaf, Turmakhand Rural Municipality-1, Achham district.

Sirjana, the eldest daughter of Khulalu Bazaar trader Anipal Batala, was studying in class 10 in Birendranagar, Surkhet. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which occurred while she had returned home to celebrate Dashain.
