Female employee death case: Employees’ Union President Deuba acquitted, two released on bail
Dhangadhi: Three employees of the Postal Highway Planning Office in Dhangadhi were arrested in connection with the death of computer operator Shiladevi Bohara.
According to police, the incident occurred on Asoj 13, the day of Phulpati, at the office’s residential quarters. Bohara’s family had lodged a complaint alleging that she died after consuming poison, implicating three of her colleagues.
Based on the complaint, police arrested Dharma Deuba and Bhagarathi Joshi, both employees of the same office. Among them, Deuba is the Sudurpaschim Province President of the Civil Servants’ Union affiliated with the Nepali Congress. Police also arrested another employee, Hark Air, in connection with the case.
The three were taken into custody on Asoj 14, and an investigation was launched following a manslaughter case filed by the deceased’s family.
However, Kailali District Court ordered the release of Deuba without charges. Police Spokesperson DSP Rajkumar Singh confirmed that Deuba was acquitted on Sunday. Meanwhile, Joshi and Air were released on bail of Rs 250,000 each, according to police.
