Himchuli Youth Club secures semi-final spot in Udaydev-Patan premier league

Baitadi: Himchuli Youth Club has advanced to the semi-finals of the fifth edition of the Udaydev-Patan Premier League (UPPL) tournament being held in Patan, Baitadi.

Himchuli defeated the Kedar Shakti Cricket Team by nine runs to secure their place in the last four.

Chasing a target of 122 runs, Kedar Shakti managed to score only 112 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 15 overs. Yash Kumar Kathayat and Kiran Dhami contributed 32 and 31 runs, respectively, but their efforts were not enough to clinch victory. For Himchuli, Rishikesh Bohara and Prakash Bista took two wickets each.

Earlier, batting first at the Sri Krishna Secondary School playground, Himchuli posted 121 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Rishikesh Bohara top-scored with 36 runs, while Santosh Saud and Rajendra Bohara added 32 and an unbeaten 27 runs, respectively.

For Kedar Shakti, Santosh Pandey claimed three wickets, and Kiran Dhami took two. According to scorer Dipendra Bahadur Bohra, Rishikesh Bohara was declared the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

A total of thirteen teams are participating in the tournament, which began on Asoj 25 and is organized by Patan Ekta Samaj. The competition is sponsored by Patan Municipality. The winner will receive Rs 1,35,791, while the runner-up will get Rs 56,789. The Player of the Series will receive Rs 12,345, and the best batsman and bowler will each be awarded Rs 5,678.
