Chief Minister Shah pledges Support to Shaheed Dasharath Chand health sciences university

Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has pledged to take all possible measures to enhance the functioning and mobility of Shaheed Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University, located in Godavari Municipality-5, Kailali.

While receiving a memorandum from the Struggle Committee for the Establishment of the University, Chief Minister Shah stated that the university would be strengthened through dialogue and coordination with the federal government.

He added that initiatives would be undertaken regarding the appointment of office bearers, budget allocation, and management of the university’s structure through continuous discussions with federal authorities. Chief Minister Shah also mentioned that he recently discussed the university with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, and the Minister for Health and Population.

The committee urged Chief Minister Shah to initiate the process of determining the number of seats for medical education (MBBS) in the current fiscal year and to immediately operate a 300-bed hospital once the infrastructure for the planned 600-bed hospital is ready.

The committee emphasized that timely implementation of these measures, including forming a university assembly and appointing office bearers as per the act, would contribute significantly to employment, business, tourism, and overall economic transformation in the region.
