Search continues for two girls missing after being swept away in Mahakali river
Kanchanpur: The whereabouts of two girls who went missing after being swept away in the Mahakali River remain unknown.
On Sunday afternoon, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, confirmed that the two girls, who disappeared while bathing in the Mahakali River at Bhimdatta Municipality-12, Bhujela, have yet to be found. Despite ongoing search and rescue efforts involving the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, and local residents since Sunday, there has been no sign of the girls.
“The two girls who went missing after being swept away while bathing have not been found yet,” Bohara stated. “The search operation in the Mahakali River is continuing for the third consecutive day today.”
The missing girls are Sanvi, the 6-year-old daughter of Mukesh Pant from Bhimdatta-11, and Jeevika Pant, the 8-year-old daughter of Padmaraj Pant from the same area. Both disappeared while bathing in the Mahakali River.
