Kailali: The site of a violent clash inside Kailali Prison, which left one person dead, remains under the control of inmates.

On Friday morning, a team led by Chief District Officer Gogan Hamal, along with the District Security Committee and heads of security agencies from all four sectors, attempted to access the scene. However, the prisoners barred their entry, forcing the team to return.

With the security team unable to reach the site, the District Security Committee decided to form an investigation panel. Prisoners have reportedly placed gas cylinders at the main gate of the cell block, locking it from the inside, and have threatened to ignite them if anyone attempts to enter.

A team from the National Human Rights Commission has also arrived at the prison but has been unable to access the location of the incident. "We are currently treating the injured and have not been able to go to the scene," said Shivraj Joshi, Information Officer at the District Administration Office, Kailali.

The clashes, which erupted last night, resulted in one death and left 47 others injured. As neither police nor human rights officials have been able to reach the area, the exact situation inside the prison remains unknown.
