Nepali Army completes reconstruction of Badimalika temple in Bajura
Bajura: The Nepali Army has successfully completed the reconstruction of the historic Badimalika Temple, located in the Mallagiri mountain range.
The reconstruction work began on Chaitra 12, 2081, and was completed in approximately two months. The project was carried out in accordance with the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, 2013 (Fifth Amendment), using traditional construction materials and preserving the temple's original architectural design. Technical assistance and design approval were provided by the Department of Archaeology.
Despite facing difficult terrain, adverse weather conditions, and transportation challenges, the army completed the work in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badimalika Municipality, Triveni Municipality, temple priest Netra Prasad Upadhyay, skilled craftsmen from Bhaktapur and Lalitpur, and the local community.
Badimalika is a renowned religious site in the Far West Province, drawing pilgrims and visitors from across the country.
