Dhangadhi honors retiring health volunteers with Rs 100,000 each, declares full vaccination status

Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City in Kailali has honored two retiring female community health volunteers with Rs 100,000 each in recognition of their long-standing service. The tribute was given during the municipality’s Full Vaccination and Sustainability Declaration Program held on Sunday.

Tara Devi Sharma, a health volunteer from Dhangadhi-5 who had been serving since 2059 BS, resigned after reaching the age limit of 60. Her resignation was formally accepted following a recommendation from the concerned health institution and documentation from the local mother group. In line with Section 10 of the Women's Community Health Volunteer Program Operation Procedure, 2080, Sharma was provided a respectful farewell along with a cash honor, said Health Branch Chief Yogesh Awasthi.

Similarly, Jaya Sharma, a community health volunteer from Ward No. 2, also retired and was honored accordingly.

Dhangadhi Declared Fully Vaccinated Municipality

During the event, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City was officially declared a fully vaccinated municipality.

According to Health Branch Chief Awasthi, a household survey conducted between Falgun 2081 and Baisakh 2082 identified 8,210 children aged 16 to 59 months. Among them, five children had never received any vaccinations and 59 had dropped out. All were subsequently fully vaccinated up to the age of 15 months.

Following the successful vaccination of all children, each ward in the sub-metropolitan city was awarded a Full Vaccination Assurance and Sustainability Certificate.
