Kamala Bista earns Rs 3 lakh annually through chick farming in Kailali

Kailali: Kamala Bista of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-2, Kumbhia, has become a local example of self-reliance through poultry farming. Over the past decade, she has steadily built a successful business by raising and selling chicks.
Bista began her journey into broiler farming ten years ago with a Rs 20,000 loan from the Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative Organization. She expanded her enterprise gradually, reinvesting and borrowing additional amounts in increments of Rs 20,000.
Currently, Bista sells chicks six times a year, earning a profit of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 per cycle. After deducting all expenses, she saves an estimated Rs 3 lakh annually.
She attributes her success to hard work and dedication and encourages young people to pursue opportunities at home instead of seeking employment abroad.
