Heavy rain forecast for Far West; Authorities urge caution

Kanchanpur: The Mahakali Basin Office has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in the Far Western region on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sanjay Kumar Shah, Chief of the Mahakali Basin Office in Attariya, stated that moderate rainfall is expected in Kanchanpur and Kailali, while heavy rain is likely in one or two locations within the hilly districts of the region.

Partial rainfall is expected during the afternoon, with the possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution, particularly in hilly districts, where there is a risk of landslides during the night.

As of Wednesday morning, the water level in the Mahakali River remains normal, according to Shah.
