Achham: The Government of Japan has handed over medical equipment to Bayalpata Hospital, located in Sanphebagar Municipality of Achham district.

The support, provided under the Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP), includes a grant of US$66,263 (approximately NPR 8.9 million) for the installation of essential medical equipment required for trauma and orthopedic treatment services at the hospital.

Bayalpata Hospital is operated by the non-governmental organization Nyaya Health Nepal in partnership with provincial and local governments. It serves as the main health institution for the districts of Achham, Bajura, and Doti in Sudurpaschim Province, and Kalikot and Dailekh in Karnali Province.

On the occasion, Japanese Charge d'Affaires to Nepal, Tamura Takahiro, expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts that led to the successful implementation of the project. He expressed confidence that the support will enhance access to quality healthcare services in rural areas and further strengthen the people-to-people ties between Japan and Nepal.

The GGP program aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of Nepal by implementing projects that directly benefit local communities. Since its inception in 1991, more than 200 GGP projects have been implemented across the country.
