Mangalsen municipality declared fully vaccinated and sustainable
Achham: Mangalsen Municipality in Achham has been officially declared a fully vaccinated and sustainable municipality after confirming that all children within its jurisdiction have received complete immunization.
The declaration follows confirmation that 411 children under 15 months of age in all 14 wards of the municipality have received regular vaccinations. According to Bhuminanda Dhungana, Chief of the Health Department of the Municipality, 404 children were vaccinated as part of routine services, while seven previously exempted children were later identified and included in the count, completing the vaccination drive.
During a formal ceremony held in the municipality, Mayor Padam Bahadur Bohara announced the municipality’s new status. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for adhering to vaccination guidelines and successfully conducting the necessary procedures to ensure full immunization coverage. Earlier, from Jestha 11 to Asar 1, various individual wards had already been declared fully vaccinated.
According to the municipal health department, the breakdown of fully vaccinated children by ward is as follows: 14 in Ward 1, 10 in Ward 2, 15 in Ward 3, 55 in Ward 4, 62 in Ward 5, 16 in Ward 6, 53 in Ward 7, 44 in Ward 8, 32 in Ward 9, 4 in Ward 10, 4 in Ward 11, 32 in Ward 12, 41 in Ward 13, and 18 in Ward 14.
Mayor Bohara emphasized the critical importance of the health sector and called on all those working within it to remain vigilant and dedicated. He reiterated the municipality's commitment to prioritizing public health and pledged further improvements in the future.
The declaration event was attended by Deputy Mayor Sangita Rawal, Chief Administrative Officer Gehendra Bahadur Dangi, all 14 ward chairpersons, health workers, municipal employees, and female community health volunteers.
Each year, ten local levels and districts across Achham are recognized for achieving full vaccination coverage.
